Patrolling
Mirio and Deku patrol the streets, with him almost feeling out of place. Mirio agrees to help him get better at patrolling. Such a sweet kid ugh. It’s almost sickening. Midoriya is still confused as to why All Might never said anything about how Nighteye felt. Mirio asks for Midoriya’s hero name, and tells him, his is Lemillion. A small girl bumps into Deku. He notices she’s trembling and Overhaul steps onto the scene.
Overhaul claims, the girl is his daughter (just lying his ass off), and Mirio slips Deku’s mask on. God, I wish he was smarter loool. If y’all patrolling as heroes why your mask not on my guy! Mirio better come through. He apologizes to Overhaul. Mirio talks animatedly to Overhaul, identifying him as apart of the Hassaikai. Overhaul tells him the masks keeps out the filth. Mirio lies, when Overhaul asks them what agency they’re with. If he tells Overhaul they’re with Nighteye, it will tip him off. So Mirio tells them they’re just students, as they try to leave, the little girl asks Deku not to leave.
Eri
Deku points out she’s scared. And notices the bandages on her body. We learn the girl’s name is Eri. Deku asks more questions, to which Overhaul tells him it’s dangerous to make assumptions. Mirio wants him to stop as it will rouse suspicion. Midoriya is conflicted, but asks Overhaul what he’s been doing to the girl.
Overhaul walks them down an alley, telling them that Eri, doesn’t really listen very well. Mirio is still trying to make the situation lighthearted as possible. Claiming parenting isn’t easy. Overhaul prepares to attack the two heroes. Eri notices and immediately, un-clings herself from Midoriya and goes straight to Overhaul. Since we know what Overhaul’s quirk is sorta, it’s mighty gracious on her part, to try and save Mirio and Midoriya.Eri and Overhaul walk away, and Mirio tells them that they cannot go after him. He knows they were about to get attacked and thats why Eri complied with him. Mirio does not want to push Overhaul any further, fearing it’ll make it harder to catch him. They go report to Nighteye.
Overhaul makes it back to some sort of underground headquarters, killing the guard that let Eri escape. Mirio, Midoriya, Nighteye and Bubble Girl meet up to talk about Chisaki. Nighteye explains the reason for surveilling Hassaikai, and Mirio reveals the head has a daughter. Izuku wants to help Eri, but Nighteye reprimands him, saying that he cant just save whoever he wants whenever. He tells the two teens to head back to the office and Izuku feels bad. Back to Overhaul, he gets a call from Tomura.
Hero Work Studies a Bust?
Our favorite UA students are in class, trying to figure out who the hell beat up Bakugo and Shoto. Looks like the provisional classes are on they ass! Ochako, Tsu, and Kirishima have found work studies finally, and are not in class. Midoriya cant stop thinking about Eri, to the point where he couldn’t concentrate in class all day. He goes to see All Might, but he’s out running. He catches up to All Might, and accuses him of knowing what Nighteye was going to say to the teen.
Confronting All Might
Midoriya is upset as to why All Might never said anything, and I don’t blame him. You pass a great power onto a teen, and then let him go work under a man who thinks the teen is unworthy of such power. Rude. I’d beat his ass if he wasn’t weak already. If anything, All Might made Midoriya look so stupid in my opinion. He made no effort, to try and tell Midoriya of his first choice for One for All, or why he chose him over Mirio. So to have someone he doesn’t even know that well, throw it in his face the way Sir did? Chair but make it electric. Like yeah sure, he didn’t know how Midoriya would feel about it, but he deserved to hear it from All Might first, not Sir Nighteye.
Izuku demands to know everything from All Might not as a fan, but as his successor which is only fair. All Might admits that he did not think knowing the information would be conducive to his development. But again like that’s your successor sir? It would have been more fair to hear it from him, than from a man who literally does not even like him like that? You could tell Izuku was so blindsided, when Sir told him everything. All Might decides to tells Midoriya the truth.
The Truth
He reveals Nighteye had always been a fan, and that although it was his policy to never take sidekicks, he still took him on. They worked together for a bout five years. Six years back, they stopped working together due to All Might’s injury. Sir wanted him to step down, and he told the pro hero that he needs to retire. This is when Nezu first mentioned searching UA to find a successor. Sir says to find a cheerful and strong replacement. Sir urges him to retire, or he will not and cannot support him. All Might accuses him of using foresight to see his future. Things were gonna be rough, but Sir was positive a new symbol of peace would appear.
Sir literally begs All Might to stop, for if he keeps going he’ll go up against a villain and die an unspeakable death. Which obviously hasn’t happened….yet… but we could say he’s already experienced a “death.” Death in his loss of his abilities, having to pass the power of One for All to someone else. Apparently Sir’s predictions are never wrong though, so we shall see. Maybe his physical death will be a turning point, it’s sure as hell gonna rock the hero world. Look how people was acting when he finally announced his retirement. He may as well had been dead then lool.
All Might’s Fate
The two broke up, as they couldnt agree about All Might’s future. Before All Might could even meet Mirio, he had ran into young Midoriya. He says he didnt want to tell him the truth, because he’s his fan. Which I think is bullshit. You gave this boy unspeakable power, he deserves to know if there were better contenders and why you chose him instead. Anyways, all Izuku heard from that conversation was that the retired hero is going to die. Everybody dies, I guess it’s just a big deal because it’s All Might though. But learning All Might’s fate, really hits Midoriya.
All Might told Sir his plan to pass his power to Midoriya after meeting him. Sir was opposed to it, causing a rift. Sir was mad as there were better suitable wielders, so he decided to train the person who should receive the power.
Nighteye’s Prediction
Izuku catches up with All Might, who had ran off. He asks about how far Nighteye’s vision was. All Might reveals its about six or seven years. Damn. and One for All has already died out in him. Wonder what gruesome death he will experience. Midoriya deduces that All Might is going to die within the current year or next. Big yikes. He wants All Might to live, and brings up the promise he made. He asks All Might to live to keep that promise. All Might has accepted his future. Thinking that him fighting All for One was the end of his race, but no sirrrr.
All Might says that despite his future he will keep fighting, for Midoriya. *cues the From Me to You song* All Might is such a great father figure! *cries* I know I was trashing him a little earlier, but I understand why he kept the secret from Midoriya. All I’m saying is, Midoriya is strong enough to handle it. Nighteye’s predication has come true, and that’s why All Might doesn’t want to see the man.
Izuku tells him he’ll be there to help fight fate, no matter what happens to All Might and they fist bump. Izuku then comes up with the crazy idea to have Sir use his foresight on him again, upon making up. He agrees to talk to Nighteye, even though All Might prefers not to bother him. The episode ends.
Fate vs. Destiny
I honestly don’t think theres a point, in seeing if the vision changed. I don’t know, I’ve always believed that even if you know your fate or destiny, no matter what you do to try and change it, or the decisions you decide you may make, it’s bound to still happen. Whether its good or bad, you’ve already decided to carry out actions, that’s gonna lead you to that specific outcome. Whether through indirect or direct action, fate rarely ever changes.
Oedipus
Totally reminds me of Oedipus (sorry I love greek mythology and this is actually a perfect example of fate vs destiny). Someone said hey you gonna kill your dad and marry your mom. And what happened? Every decision Oedipus made, led right up to him doing those exact same things. He knew his destiny, and decided “I’m not gonna do that.” Yet every decision he made, led him to his fate. Plus I feel like the harder you try to avoid something happening, it’s going to end up happening. I’ve experienced it several times. It’s real y’all, seriously.
So if Nighteye says All Might is gonna die then boom thats it. It’s his destiny. He’s accepted it, and instead of going out of his way to avoid it, he’s embraced it. Which is totally okay. Izuku being the optimist he is, wants to see if its changed but I’m like baybeee…. Can’t change destiny or fate. Sorry. But who knows. Anyways, this was really long, and I could go so much further into the whole fate vs destiny thing, but I’m gonna start the next episode.
